I’ve heard about the benefits of meditation numerous of times and even though I try to create a meditation routine for myself, I find it challenging. Deepak Chopra teamed up with Oprah to give us a FREE 21-day meditation challenge which started on Aug 5th (there’s still in time to join, I did so today!). Deepak has meditated every single day for over 40 years and believe it or not, he meditates 2 hour everyday from 4 until 6!
And I’m finding it hard to squeeze 20 min in everyday
Why 21 days? Because it is said that you need to do something 21 days for it to become a habit and according to Deepak after 66 days you will reap even more benefits from meditation.
When is the best time to meditate?
In the morning. After your body is well rested after a good night of sleep (in the best case) meditation serves as a tool to get you energized in the morning. It also sets the tone for your day as you will start it in a mindful manner
So what does the 21-day meditation program feature?
+ Daily streaming of teachings and meditations guided by Oprah and Deepak
+ Inspirational messages and Centering Thoughts
+ Sanskrit mantras and their meanings
+ Reflection questions and a private journal
+ Inspiring daily email message showing you how to incorporate Oprah and Deepak’s message into your life right now
+ Interactive discussion forum providing access to our global community of meditators
+ New, easy to use on-line experience featuring online streaming of meditation on your mobile device or computer, effortless interface and visually compelling content
Having a daily reminder via email and a dashboard to log in to, makes it more exciting. I also love the fact that we get to work with mantras which Deepak describes as the ‘cab you take to get to your destination’.
So join and discover the benefits of meditation and gain insights in yourself. I’m happy to be part of it and hope this will help me meditate on a regular basis
